Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Management

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is an emerging technology where users’ desktop sessions actually reside on a server. Users access their desktop session through “thin client” devices. By moving the desktop session to a server, users are given a more robust computing environment while at the same time the organization saves money.

The VDI experience is transparent to the user, whose workspace still has a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. A “thin client” terminal replaces the traditional PC. However, the look and feel of a typical Microsoft Windows session is the same – except reliability and mobility is increased.

The server back end for a VDI system is more robust than the typical PC – data is stored on redundant storage all but eliminating data loss. VDI systems are optimized for remote access, and inexpensive software can allow your users to access their desktop session from their smart phone, tablet, laptop, or home PC.

InSequence provides Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions that drastically reduce the cost of providing a terminal while at the same time enabling remote access.
