Back to AllComplex Environment. Clear Asset Visibility.

CUSTOMER CHALLENGE
InSequence recently delivered a comprehensive solution for an Intelligence Community (IC) customer to provide visibility into assets across highly complex and air gapped (disconnected) environments.
The IC customer faced significant challenges in collecting accurate asset data across a vast, heterogeneous IT estate. Their environment included multiple disconnected networks, and asset data was manually gathered, often months out of date. The customer lacked visibility into IT investment risk, cost, and usage, making strategic planning and compliance difficult.
APPROACH
InSequence deployed Flexera Software’s FlexNet Manager into the customer’s environment, creating a scalable framework to integrate and normalize data from over 100 unique sources. These sources included:
- 4 Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) systems
- Over 10 PDQ Inventory systems
- 3 Citrix environments
- 58 VMware vCenters
- 3 Microsoft App V environments
- 15 air gapped special access enclaves
- 48 Active Directory domains
- 3 distinct disconnected network fabrics
InSequence worked collaboratively across multiple government teams and contract support organizations to unify data from these fragmented systems. Hardware and software inventory data was collected, normalized using Flexera’s Application Recognition Library (ARL), and consolidated on a single secure network.
The resulting data was ingested into the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB), giving the customer unified asset visibility for the first time in the history of their enterprise.

RESULTS
Thanks to InSequence’s engineering-led approach, the customer now maintains a single, up to date view of both on premises and cloud assets across all networks and enclaves. The solution:
- Eliminated reliance on error prone, manual asset tracking
- Increased data accuracy and CMDB completeness
- Provided consistent visibility across previously siloed environments
- Enabled faster decision making and improved risk management
CONCLUSION
Through deep technical expertise, vendor collaboration, and strong cross team coordination, InSequence delivered a groundbreaking capability to an Intelligence Community customer. This engagement not only improved the fidelity of their CMDB but also transformed how the organization manages and understands its complex asset landscape.
